  • NP40 Session Controller

The NP40 Business Gateway is a small form-factor device that enables service providers to enhance their current customer premises routers to effectively manage real-time, IP-based network communications. It provides service monitoring and session control of all VoIP devices on the company's LAN and protects against malicious packet attacks, assures bandwidth for calls and provides operator governed Call Admission Control. The NP40 also provides an intelligent lifeline to ensure survivability during network outages. It comes with support built-in for two telephony interfaces, one FxO for use as a backup lifeline, and one FxS.

    Single Integrated Device

Satisfying customers' voice and data needs with a single device simplifies network deployment and service management. The feature set includes true wirespeed routing and switching between interfaces, session control and quality monitoring. High performance Quality of Service, IPSec, FW/NAT and Intrusion Detection System (IDS) guarantee that connections are secured, private and provided with the resources they need.

Multi-Service QoS (GoS™) Converged IP voice and data services are governed by an advanced, yet easy to configure QoS mechanism that ensures optimal priority and management of multiple priority traffic classes.

GoS gives carrier-class service quality to voice and other real-time multimedia services over broadband connections, guaranteeing up to 90% of the link bandwidth for priority traffic, under 100% link utilization.

    VoIP User Agent

The NP40 supports FxO/FxS ports to provide legacy devices with access to new IP-based deployments. Most features of advanced SIP/MGCP terminals are supported.

    Advanced Service Monitoring

The NP40 has wirespeed packet monitoring for both voice and data flows. It automatically gathers information on the voice quality of all calls, and allows monitoring of flows by any external NetFlow compatible station. Local TCPdump packet capture can be used to analyze hard to trace faults.

    VoIP Session Control

The NP40 extends a network operators' control of the VoIP network onto the customer premises to assure QoS and SLAs. Local switching provides VoIP survivability when the operators' servers are unreachable or the WAN is unavailable. The system supports easy call management, QoS and access control management.

    Management

The NP40 provides secure management via CLI or web.

    LAN Switch

The fully managed Ethernet switch provides layer 2 QoS and a full array of high performance features.
